Capstone Expands Presence in Asian-Pacific Market With First Microturbine Sale in the Philippines

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Feb. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, expanded its reach into the Asian-Pacific market with the sale of its first microturbine in the Philippines. The C800 will operate on biogas at a large farm in Banga, South Cotabato, Philippines, to generate low-emission onsite energy.

Biotech Farms Inc., one of the Philippines' largest and most progressive integrated hog and poultry layer farms, selected the Capstone C800, which will be fueled by biogas processed from animal waste in an onsite anaerobic digester. The C800 will produce clean-and-green onsite energy for the farm's feeding equipment, ventilation fans, water pumps, and lighting, allowing Biotech Farms to be self-sufficient with its power requirements.

Capstone's Asian-Pacific distributor, Sobono Energy, secured the order and will supply and commission the C800 Power Package this spring.
