Capstone Receives Order for $6.4 Million From BPC Engineering for Pipeline Project

CHATSWORTH, Calif., April 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean-technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, today announced that it recently received an order for 100 microturbines for $6.4 million from its Russian distributor BPC Engineering for a new pipeline project.

The 100 low-emission Capstone microturbines will be installed at modular power stations. All the microturbines will be fueled by untreated associated gas from well sites that otherwise would be flared. Associated gas utilization for power will allow the customer to avoid costly emissions penalties and to significantly reduce power costs at the oil field level. The electricity generated by the microturbines is expected to cover nearly all the energy needs of the oil field.
